The public school system in DeKalb county is dedicated to preparing students for college, nearly 70% of its students go on to attend 4-year colleges and universities. There are many fine colleges in the area including Georgia Tech, Georgia State, Kennesaw State University and Spelman College. Nearby, Atlanta has several restaurants, museums, festivals, theaters, music venues, golf courses, amusement parks, sports stadiums and places rich with history and interest.
